Lest you think from the title of today’s blog that I’ve completed my series on pursuing a life of excellence as a woman, not a chance!   I thought it would be a good idea to “mix it up” somewhat and have a little bit different title…something that might grab your attention.  Did it work?  Good!  Now let me explain my “why” behind the title.

Several years ago I was asked to speak at a three-county Chamber of Commerce event for women.  I was, of course, honored to be asked..not the keynote speaker…that will come in time.   However, the event featured several break-out sessions on topics that were relevant to the women in attendance.  Since my passion has been, and still remains, promoting a healthy work-life balance, this was the perfect opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the years.living lean image

Needless to say, I was thrilled with the response from women who came to my sessions and many who gave me positive feedback.  It’s encouraging to know that all the effort and work put into that kind of project made a tangible difference in someone’s life…or perhaps many more!

And  that’s how my “Livin’ Life LEAN…and Lovin’ It” presentation was born.   The topic has been “sitting on the shelf” for some time now…but eager  to come down, get dusted off and tweaked a tad to fit well into the “In Pursuit of Excellence” blog series.

So what do I mean by “Livin’ LEAN”?   You’re probably thinking the logical thing…it must be about ridding yourself of those excess pounds you’ve been meaning to work on…and you’d be right…at least to a small degree.   But there’s way more that I’ll be touching on in this “series within a series”.   That’s another reason I made the decision to vary a bit from the original title since I could easily take the next several blog posts just dealing with the matter of “Livin’ LEAN”…not to mention about how to do just that and “Love It” at the same time.

As you may have guessed, I will be sharing about the importance of having a healthy life balance that incorporates the spiritual, emotional and physical aspects of our lives.  The bottom line…if you’re out of balance in one area it absolutely does affect the other two…no doubt about it.  How do I know?  I’ve been there…done that.  I can speak from experience.  If you’ve never been physically ill…I mean really, REALLY sick, then it’s tough to know how very well you could be.  The same goes for emotional wellness.   Especially as women, and those wonderful things called hormones… well, you get the picture.  It can be somewhat of a “roller coaster ride” with our emotions.   Then there’s the aspect of spiritual wellness and the importance of having a true intimate relationship with our Creator.

What does all of the above have to do with living a life of excellence?  Everything!  Hang on tight because we’re embarking on a journey to wellness that could be life-changing…until Friday!
